Anne Burnham Pottery
For years, Anne Burnham
has photographed landscapes as models for the motifs she uses on her
pottery. When printing some photographs of two friends doing
construction, she became attracted to the humor of the resulting
portraits. Thus began life with portraits, a quest in which subject and
photographer strive to reveal some of the chemistry present in the split
second of the photographic moment. Anne prefers the simplicity of black
and white photography.
Anne has been a studio potter in
northern New York since l974. She has worked primarily in highfire
stoneware and porcelain clays. Her 36 cu. ft. downdraft kiln is fired to
2300 degrees F. She both throws and handforms her pieces. |
