My early
photography achievement include placing 3rd in the 1993
Annual Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Awards (KINSA) Contest
through the Press Republican and the acceptance of one of my 1998
Ice Storm photographs by the International Library of Photography’s
North American Open Amateur Contest. This was published in their
1999 Gallery of Life.

I took
the Bee on a Posey photograph in my front yard this
summer using the Macro Setting of my Panasonic DMC-LZ5 Lumix
Digital Camera. It portrays a wasp crawling out of the
center of a Trumpet Vine flower. It hung in the Amateur's
Only! Juried Art Exhibit at the Frederic Remington Museum in
the Fall of 2006. The price for a matted and framed 8 X 10
of this photograph, purchased through forARTSake, is $125.

Following my
retirement from teaching Malone Middle School mathematics, I became
more seriously interested in photography at the prodding of family,
friends, and especially Bev Quenville. Subsequently, my photographs
have been displayed in Malone’s Open Juried Art Exhibits of 2005,
2006, and in the “Small Works Exhibit” of 2007, as well as in those
of Malone’s 2005 Year of the River and 2006 RiverFest Open Juried
Art Exhibits. |

Ripples of Peace was taken at Emerald Lake in Gaylord,
Michigan in 2003 with my Fuji Finepix 3800 digital camera.
An 8 X 10 matted and framed copy of this photograph can be

Other
accomplishments include winning the Edna Hill Best Photograph Award
and 5 ribbons at the 2005 Franklin County Fair. I have photographs
online in the Photo Gallery and the Finalists Gallery of the 2006
Great Backyard Bird Count sponsored by the Audubon Society and
Cornell Lab of Ornithology, as well as the Cornell Lab’s website
featuring amateur’s bird photographs.

Grampa
was taken with my digital camera of 96-year old
Nathan Young at the wedding of his grandson, Nathan
Young, and Bobbi Jo Bissonette in July 2005. It has been
awarded both the Edna Hill Best Photograph at the 2005
Franklin County Fair and 2nd place in the Photography
Division of the Massena Art Association's 22nd annual
Exhibit in February 2007. This photograph can be purchased

In the fall of 2006, I had two photographs accepted into “The 2006
Amateur Only! Juried Art Exhibit” at the Remington Museum in
Ogdensburg, NY. My most recent accomplishment is the acceptance of
two photo entries into the Massena Art Association’s 22nd
Annual Exhibit in which my photograph entitled “Grampa” won second
place in the Photography division. |

Lily of the Valley was taken in one of our gardens with
my Fuji Finepix 3800 digital camera. A 4 X 6 matted version

2007 Juried

Field of Snow Geese was taken with a digital camera in a
field outside the Village of Malone on State Route 11B. It
was accepted into the 2006 Photo Gallery of the Great
Backyard Bird count (GBBC) of February 2006 and ultimately
was chosen as one of the 73 finalists out of the 213 bird
photographs submitted. A matted and framed 5 X 7 version of
this photograph can be purchased at forARTSake for $60 to
$80 depending on the style of frame that is chosen. Other
