prides itself on the quality of our instructors. Most
instructors possess a Bachelors in Art and some have
additional degrees. In most cases, with a minimum
of participants, we are able to keep the cost of
workshops down to $10 an hour. If there is a hardship and you are
especially interested in signing up for a workshop, please stop in the
shop and we will try to be creative with payment ! If at all possible
we would like our workshops open to all.

Our workshops and lessons are designed to fill a need for anyone
who wishes to develop their creative self. Classes for both children
and adults are offered. |

Special pricing
for multiple family members or group bookings (home
school, Brownies, Girl Scouts, 4-H, birthday parties, etc.) - 1st
child/regular price, additional children/one half price. |
Pre-registration & payment is required in order for us to
determine if minimum numbers (normally 6 people) have been met. In
the event of a class cancellation, money will be refunded. |

July 19, Sat., 10 - 4; "PIECES AND PUZZLES SELF PORTRAIT - The Me
You Never Saw; Alice Wand; $75. This is a one day collage marathon
using magazine images and words, old drawings and other artworks,
handmade papers, junk mail, postage stamps, old greeting cards, etc. The
intent of the workshop is to find new personal meaning by changing and
recycling the old and outdated or useless "stuff' in our lives.
Participants should bring in papers and magazines for cutting up.
Be prepared to try new and old ways of looking within. Any level
of experience is welcome. Bring a bag lunch. Beverage and
dessert will be provided. |

May 3, Sat., 10-2. Painting in Oils. Wilson Bickford. $45 including
materials. "Stand of Birches" is the title of the oil painting
all participants will complete in this 4 hour session. Using the
Alexander method of instruction, participants will follow along with the
instructor to complete a painting on a 16 x 20 canvas. All materials
will be provided. Bring a bag lunch. Beverage and dessert will be
provided. |

May. 17, Sat. 10-4. Book Arts Concertina. Diane Fine. $75 including
materials. In this one day workshop, quick collaborative drawings
and rubber stamp printing will serve as context for an accordion style
book. The instructor is a professor of book arts and printmaking at SUNY
Plattsburgh. |

May 19, Mon., 10-2. Plein Air Painting. Tim Fortune. $60 plus
materials. Professional artist Tim Fortune will share with the class
different ways to benefit from working on location. Participants will
gather together at forARTSAke and travel to a nearby spot to paint. The
instructor will demonstrate how to set up and how to work rapidly in
order to capture the changing effects of light. Participants should
bring whatever materials they wish to work with (watercolor, oil,
acrylic, gouache) as well as a bag lunch. |

Special Fall Workshop. Mark Your
Calendar. Two-day Watercolor workshop in
October (18 & 19). Florida artist will travel to Malone to share her
talents with the Malone community. Sherie Tengbergen is a retired art
teacher with over 30 years of experience. She is known as the
Watercolor Gourmet at many locations
where she does workshops and demonstrations. Her fun loving personality
and practical way of using everyday materials to enrich her paintings
has provided her with a captive audience at the many locations where she
is asked to perform/teach. |
